End of Fall 2014
Great fall season for CUA Women's Rugby with lots of new, awesome rookies! Our season ended on a high note with a 51-0 win against Towson University on our home turf. We unfortunately will be missing some player in the spring for they will either be traveling abroad or graduating this december! But we are excited to get back out in the spring and have some fun at tournaments and friendlies!
Summer Time!
CONGRATULATIONS to our seniors who graduated in May! We will miss you on the pitch in the fall but hopefully you will be on the sidelines cheering us on!! CUAWRFC is excited to start getting ready for the fall season. The E-board is working on schedules and field space but keep on working on your fitness and stay hydrated in this summer heat!! Cheers!
March 1st: Catholic vs. Mary Washington
After only having our first week of practice, CUA lost to Mary Washington but held our own as three rookies played for the first time and did PHENOMENALLY. Emily Fredette and Elizabeth Denholm scored CUA's trys for the match. Everyone did a fantastic job and stuck together as a team with great scrums by the forwards and great defense by the backs as well as an amazing effort overall; it was a team effort! CUA will get even better (if possible!) as soon as the snow lets up, Great job girls!!
ALSO: nice uniforms ;)
March 22nd & 23rd: Ruggerfest
After a long wait brought by spring break, CUAWRFC had another match. This time, it was a tournament. Sorry for the delay but Catholic competed in Ruggerfest, a tournament located in Manassas VA, this past weekend and played so well and had a GREAT tackling game; they beat American on the second day and played 10s for the first time. Even with low numbers, the girls worked hard and were undaunted. Fantastic job ladies! Let's get pumped for our Round Robin this Saturday!
March 29th: Round Robin with American University and George Washington University
Despite the rain, CUA played hard this Saturday in their Round Robin with AU and GW. The team started off strong against GW and finished strong against AU. Also, a thanks to GW and AU for helping us out with our numbers; we couldn't have played without you! Claire Wagner scored a well earned try against GW. All of the girls adapted very well to playing positions they had never played before without hesitation; that is much appreciated! Practice is very important this week as we get ready and pumped for the upcoming Cherry Blossom tournament!
